Makati City, May 1, 2019 - Philippine professional communicators took on significant roles in the 2019 IABC Gold Quill Awards of the San Francisco, US-based International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) as IABC named the Philippines as a new site of its 2019 Blue Ribbon Panel that evaluated global entries to the prestigious Awards that will be awarded in June 2019 in Vancouver, Canada.


The Philippines joined evaluation sites in San Francisco, New York and Chicago in the US, Singapore, Melbourne and Sydney in Australia, Vancouver and London in Ontario in Canada, Johannesburg in South Africa, and in London, England.
Philippine Chair for the Gold Quill Awards Blue Ribbon Panel, Ritzi Villarico-Ronquillo, APR said, “Having the Philippines as a new Gold Quill Awards Blue Ribbon Panel evaluation site honors our country, and recognizes the competence and integrity of our communicators to score entries from other countries. As a long-time IABC evaluator and Gold Quill recipient, I am happy to see our communicators at world stage.”


Chosen from the Philippines for competence, integrity and experience and trained in the stringent Gold Quill rubrics and standards were: Ritzi Villarico-Ronquillo, APR as country panel chair and evaluator; Joe Zaldarriaga of Meralco, Belle Tiongco of Football for Humanity, Kane Errol Choa, APR of ABS-CBN Corporation, Richard Arboleda of EON, Inc.; Mariquit Lintag and Don Peji of Sun Life Financial Philippines, Ramon Isberto, APR of Smart/PLDT, Maricar Bautista of Aboitiz Equity Ventures, Dave Devilles of Aboitiz Construction, Liza Vengco, ABC of RCBC, Mark Quebal of Chevron Philippines, Inc., Carla Sison, ABC, APR of Lopez Holdings Corporation. Sujit Patil, ABC of Mumbai, India’s Godrej Industries Ltd and Associate Companies, joined the Philippine-based Blue Ribbon Panel.

Entries are evaluated by global professional communicators with over 10 years of experience, have earned Gold Quill Awards, have chaired IABC award programs, and most important, are trained to evaluate entries against established criteria aligned with IABC’s Global Standard of the communication profession.
